Little Black Dress

Friday, January 25, 2013

Fashion icon, Karl Lagerfeld believes that “one is never over- or under dressed with a little black dress.”  This past week, I collaborated with photographer Ircahn Gunawan from Masi Pictures, and designer Keshia Tedjopranoto for a “little black dress” themed shoot.

A little back dress should be a wardrobe staple for all women—especially those working.  While experiencing ‘Corporate America’ at it’s finest, I had appointments, dates, and frequent travels penciled in throughout the day.  Though drowning in piles of work, I still set aside some time for dinners and dates.  However, its nearly impossible to frantically drive, fight LA traffic, then change into a completely new outfit for a fancy evening engagement on a Friday night…

Make a sartorial statement at the office by pairing a LBD with a blazer and simple, solid, silver accessories.  Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication as Leonardo da Vinci claims, and nothing looks sharper than black and silver jewelry with a highly structured briefcase.

A little black dress became the answer to all my fashion woes.

Likewise, transition your outfit into a noteworthy evening ensemble by simply switching accessories.  Accessories are the unnoticed details that subtly transform your outfit.
Soften your look by trading your silver jewels for pearls, and your structured briefcase for a classy black and gold purse.  As evidenced in Audrey Hepburn’s famous Breakfast at Tiffany’s shoot, nothing is more feminine diamonds and pearls.
Lastly, complete the look by adding a touch of glamour and elegance to your feminine ensemble with hints of gold.
You don’t need much to look fashionable 24/7.  Buy yourself little black dress if you don’t already have one, classic pieces of jewelry, a nice handbag, and you’re on the fast track to style stardom.
I had an amazing time collaborating with Masi Pictures.  Please take a look at his work by clicking here!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
