Bags
Christian Dior’s Lady Dior is one of
the most iconic, feminine, and recognizable handbags of the century and
deserves a space in every fashionistas closet.
With its elegant design, detailed stitching, and structured
silhouette… It’s truly a bag fit for a princess. Lady Dior has graced the arms of modern
royalty and countless celebrities alike from its launch in ’94 until today.
As Princess Diana’s favorite purse,
the bag was crowned/re-named “Lady Dior” and from then on experienced unparalleled
success. It goes down in bag history (at
least in my book), as one of fashions most renowned and elegant pieces of
accessory.
Like Chanel’s classic flap bag, the Lady
Dior is essentially timeless, but with each passing year, has more to offer its
customers. It’s now available in 4
different sizes ranging from Micro till Large, launched in all colors of the
rainbow and more, and comes in everything from classic leather, extravagant exotics,
to seasonal hits like sequins, tweed, and beads to name a few…
The classic bags feature Dior’s
signature “cannage” stitching, a smooth, sturdy arched handle, and a “D.i.o.r” jewelry
charm offered most traditionally in gold and silver. Each masterpiece is handcrafted, and takes
nearly 8 hours to complete- so you are, essentially purchasing a piece of
art!
With such a selection of sizes,
leather, and hardware to choose from, which will you get? Please refer to below as a quick
reference. Enjoy!

More often than not, less is more, and simplicity with a touch of
character highlights elegance! Riding
off the Luggage Tote’s success, Celine’s Trapeze Bag is another famous best
seller featuring a sleek box flap with signature luggage wings.
As the luggage totes streamlined sister, the Trapeze is as functional
as it is stylish. The tote has a
rectangular shape, fold over flap with a gold clasp closure, a handle resting
on top of the front flap, and a long detachable shoulder strap. It’s roomy enough to take with you to travel,
but sleek enough for everyday use.
Though it has a minimalist design, you can play with colors,
materials, and textures to add more character and life to your bag!
If you’re planning on getting one, here’s a a few street style shots and quick brief on everything

Highlights from Spring 2015
· Flap closure with gold square
hardware
· Zipper under flap
· Snap button closure on winged
sides
· Interior pockets
· Detachable Clip Shoulder Straps
· Zipper that runs across the rear
Notes
I
bought the black medium Croc Embossed Trapeze when it was first released in
2011 (visit post link). Elegant, bold, and streamlined,
it’s been one of my go to totes for almost everything. The one minor setback is the top handle
placement. The handle is placed right
over the front flap, making it difficult to access stuff in your bag. When unzipping your bag with one free hand,
it falls open, and you have to ensure your contents don’t slip out. Nevertheless, this hasn’t held me back from
frequently using the bag!

Some
people dream of owning a Chanel, others have a covetable collection of handbags
sitting on display in their closets, and though rare, there are those who think
it’s overly played-out.
For me, I’m more of a dreamer and collector, and often find myself flipping through the pages of Vogue and Elle wanting to purchase the next Chanel ‘it’ bag for myself.

In Fall
of 2011, Karl Lagerfield introduced Chanel’s latest it bag, the Boy Flap Bag
inspired by a hunter’s cartridge bag. It
quickly made its way onto editorials, tabloids—slung across countless
celebrities shoulders, and last but not least, my daydreams... Removed from
conventional feminine clichés, the Boy Bag paved the path for a new generation
of Chanel Bags catering more to us millennials, than our parents/grandparent’s
generation. He stayed true to Coco
Chanel’s iconic design, but added a masculine twist to the classic line of
bags. While maintaining a
structured/clean silhouette, Le Boy, featured a chunkier, matte, chain strap,
that could be worn as a shoulder or cross body bag. Instead of the classic twist closure,
Lagerfield introduced a new clasp closure for convenience. The bag originally
came in neutral shades of black, white, and grey in 4 different sizes, but has since evolved…
