Spring Sensation

Though my closet’s filled with ruffles, lace, and girly things, this outfit in particular epitomized femininity.  Combining the finest cashmere with delicate layers of silk and lace detailing, my flowery ensemble was perfectly appropriate for afternoon tea with my mom and sister.

It’s hard to complain when you’re nibbling on sweets and sipping on tea with the two people you love most.  Feeling carefree, and genuinely grateful for my amazing family, I couldn’t help but get up, dance, and do a little twirl, letting my breezy skirt sway with the wind.
My mom bought this outfit from Anna Molinari years ago.  Weaving together floral prints, botanical colors, and the most elegant materials.  I love Anna's designs; they embody femininity, charm, and elegance—everything you hope to find in the modern woman.

Normally, you’ll look like a shower curtain if you’re covered from head to toe in the same flowery print.  Vary the materials to tone down the look.  For example, the heavier cashmere blouse is a sleek contrast to the breezy spring skirt, creating a subtle separation at the waist.  Moreover, a shorter blouse and high waist skirt combination creates longer, leaner lines.

For a day at work, pair the cardigan with a white slacks.  Transform the outfit into a weekend ensemble by pairing the top with its skirt counterpart!  This outfit was a welcomed departure from my normal winter dress code.  Spring is in the air!  Start trading in your heavy knits and musky grays for something fresh, light, and fun!
