Statement Jewelry

Every girl needs a little sparkle in their life~ especially during the holidays.  Growing up, I received a cocktail dress and one piece of fine jewelry from grandma each birthday.  She was a wise, fashionable woman and always believed that nice things weren’t as pretty sitting in a closet.
We would celebrate the following night dressed from head to toe in my grandmother’s gifts.  For the longest time, I found myself wearing her dainty necklaces and bracelets with gorgeous gems.  However, as I immersed myself in the fashion industry these past few years, I discovered an entirely different realm of jewelry, and ventured off to playing around with statement pieces!

Seen on style enthusiasts all over, bold statement pieces are staking their claim in fashion.  They add a trendy twist to old classics and revamp a basic look with unexpected accents.  This statement necklace in particular, is actually an old brooche strung together with pieces from a bracelet.  Because the necklace was so loud, I kept the rest of my jewelry simple, letting the statement speak for itself.

·       Statement pieces are the key to updating your outfit. You always want your necklace to stand out.  If you’re donning a bold necklace, keep the rest of your look sleek and simple.  I personally suggest sticking to solid colors.
·       Speaking of colors…you either want your necklace to bring out the color of your outfit or tone down the color, so don’t be afraid to use your necklace with different outfits.
·       As for price… Jewelry doesn’t always have to be thousands of dollars—you can find just as elegant a piece, if you focus on purchasing something with unique detailing!

Accessories are the secret ingredients for putting together a cute outfit.  Have fun searching for statement pieces this upcoming year!
