2015 Resolutions

Happy New Years!!!  I spent the last few weeks not only reflecting on 2014, but looking at how I’ve changed since moving to LA.
When I first settled here 6+ years ago, I, as one of my closest friends would describe, rode through life, or at that time, USC’s campus, strapped to my training wheels.  I depended heavily on my network of friends, and cautiously peddled on my pre-planned route.  With experience and time, however, I started riding solo, and onto unpaved roads…A lot’s changed since then.  In the past, my goals and resolutions year after year were to get into med school and become an endocrinologist…Though I’m neither in med school nor in a lab researching hormones, I’m happy with where I am presently, and excited for everything ahead!

Though it’s always difficult to follow through with every New Years resolution, developing new goals, and building on past aspirations is a tradition I continue to uphold.  Rather than drafting a laundry list of results I hope to see by January 2016, I’m channeling my energy towards broader goals like living in the moment, worrying less about things beyond my control, and letting myself grow at my own pace…  Since childhood, I've been wired to intricately plan out my future, but sketching life’s blueprint years in advance put me through unnecessary stress and stopped me from embracing open opportunities beyond my boundaries.  This year I plan on enjoying the journey…laughing freely & living beautifully!
